Outriders was developed by People Can Fly. The Steam version for instance hit number five on the top seller list for the week ending March 7.
There does appear to be a good amount of pre-release hype for Outriders ahead of its April launch. Turns out, the planet doesn’t want them there. Outriders is set in the distant future where players attempt to colonize a planet that they believe to be a new home for humanity. Starting April 1 (not an April Fool’s joke, I assure you), Xbox Game Pass for Console and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can jump into this true genre-hybrid from Square Enix, which combines brutal combat with deep RPG systems. The plot of Outriders is that an anomaly wipes out an incoming colony in new planet called Enoch you are one of few who have survived. As a bonus, those who pre-order Worldslayer before Jwill have early access, but those who don’t will have to wait until June 30, 2022.
OUTRIDERS GAME PASS INSTALL
If this speculation is true, we could expect some news during Square Enixs presentation next week. With an active subscription to Game Pass, you can install Outriders but, you will need to purchase the Worldslayer Expansion to play it. It is possible to cancel your pre-order on Xbox, however those who access the game through Game Pass will have to purchase separately the Hell’s Rangers pack. Both of these hints point towards Outriders joining Xbox Game Pass from the day of its release.
Sorry PC gamers, you’ll have to buy it like everyone else. The only follow up questions being would it be a day one launch, would it be available on PC and console, and if not a day one launch how soon after. The NPD Group has published its US game sales report for March 2021, and they seem to further confirm that a game's inclusion on Xbox Game Pass does not doom its sales. Online multiplayer on console requires Xbox subscription (sold separately). Two days ago we wondered whether Microsoft’s painfully obvious hint that Outriders would be hitting Game Pass meant that Outriders would be hitting Game Pass. Cloud enabled game while in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
